"Age Matters v Cask Matters"

A Masterclass hosted by Peter Klas of Scotia Spirit, Cologne Germany

What makes a good whisky? The age of the whisky or the cask that the whisky is matured in?

At the beginning of the new century the industry told us that the "age matters" because of the overloaded warehouses after the downturn in the nineties.

Nowadays, a lot of older whiskies have disasppeared yet the demand is higher than ever. More and more younger or non-age statement whiskies are on the market and now the the industry tells "the cask matters", but which is it?

Is age the only indicator of a good whisky? What about younger whiskies that spend their lives in excellent casks?

Come to Knockomie on Thursday 28th April or Sunday 1st May at 2.30pm and find out with an entertaining blind tasting! There are 6 pairs of Speyside's finest whiskies to be surprised at and savour. Tickets are limited to 20 per session and are charged at £25.00 per person.
