Knockomie Terms and Conditions
We take a credit or debit card number including expiry date and 3 digit security code to secure your booking. A confirmed booking constitutes a legal agreement between the customer and Knockomie Inn. With all reservations we strongly advise that all guests take out travel insurance to cover unforeseen events that lead to a cancellation.
Check-in is from 3.00pm and check out is prior to 11.00am.
Late arrival - If you are going to arrive after 10.00pm please let us know so tht we can let you in. Dinner reservations should be made by phone or email. Vegetarian options are always available. Most special dietary requests can catered for if requested in advance.
Our cancellation policy.
Where an accommodation cancellation is made with 48 hours or less to arrival then the 1st nights accommodation is payable without exception.
For 3 rooms or more the following group reservation terms apply;
31 days - 14 days 75% of the stay
13 – 3 days 85% of the stay
2 days – night of 100% of the stay
For reservations over the Christmas and New Year period the following conditions are applied.
To secure your reservation we require a deposit of £200.00 per room at the time of booking. In the event of cancellation this deposit is non-refundable.
A further pre-payment is required of the remaining balance is payable by 15th November. All these payments are non refundable and as mentioned above we recommend you take out a travel insurance policy to cover for such eventualities. Cancellation after 15th November full payment will be charged.
Discounted breaks and offers are only available to new bookings and cannot be applied to retrospectively. Our rates can be amended due to supply and demand and all offer are for a set period of time. Once an offer rate has been booked it cannot be changed or transferred to another date. Please check our website for the most up to date offers and their terms of booking. No offers can be booked in conjunction with other offers, vouchers or discounts. Upgrades to superior room s are charged accordingly.
Weddings and Exclusive Use - These terms and conditions are available separately in our Weddings and Events documents. Refunds will not be given should these terms and conditions not be met.
Unless otherwise stated all accounts are to be settled prior to departure. The management reserves the right to charge your account for any items inadvertently omitted from your account at the time of departure and for any items found missing from the room. This includes charging for smoking in the bedroom or the hotel public areas. We accept most major debit and credit cards.
BACS payments are accepted on the following terms. Should you wish to pay for your accommodation by BACS then this should be done 10 days prior to arrival. It is also a stipulation as stated above that credit or debit card details are also taken at the time of booking. We reserve the right to re – let your room if these terms are not met.
Knockomie is a completely NON SMOKING Inn. Damage caused or additional cleaning required as a result of smoking in bedrooms will be charged accordingly. Rooms which cannot be let as a result of smoking will be charged for at the tariff rate to cover for cleaning and loss of revenue. Guests may smoke in designated areas outside at the front of the hotel where a cigarette / cigar extinguisher is available for guests use.
Knockomie does accept dogs in certain rooms. These rooms are specified and availability agreed at the time of booking. Dogs should not be left unattended in the bedrooms unless there has been consent given by the management. Owners are requested to leave their dogs in the car if it barks or causes a disturbance to other guests. All dogs are required to bring their own beds. Any damage as a direct result of dogs in your room will be charged for. To be considerate to other guests we ask that dogs are kept to the public bar and large dining room, not in the carpeted dining room or lounge. We ask that all dog owners dispose of their dogs waste in the biodegradable bags and place them in the Green trade waste bin at the rear of the Inn. The charge for dogs in bedrooms is £10 per dog per night.
All cancellations must be made in accordance with Knockomie Inn's policies. Deposits where requested are non-refundable. If you are in the unfortunate position where you require to cancel a reservation we will only offer to refund your deposit if we are able to resell your accommodation at the same price and for the same duration.
We very much enjoy looking after our guests and where possible we will endeavour to meet your requests, however this cannot be guaranteed and if there is a failure to do so this will not cause a breach in contract.
In the unlikely event that we have to cancel or amend your reservation, we reserve the right to do so. However you have the right to:
Accept the change in reservation as we have written to you; or
you can make alternative arrangements with us; or
cancel the reservation and we will refund any monies paid to us regarding your reservation. Please be aware that we will not be liable for any monies you may have paid to a third party, persons or agent in respect of your reservation.
For the avoidance of doubt, we shall have no further liability to you for any changes to or the cancellation of any online booking.
Complaints or Comments
We are here to ensure your stay is a comfortable as possible. Any complaint or comment regarding a stay or meal at Knockomie should be made in the first instance to a member of the team or duty supervisor or manager at the time so that we can do our best to rectify it immediately.
Issues that cannot be resolved at the time then they should be made in writing and addressed to Mr and Mrs Gavin Ellis, Knockomie Inn, Grantown Road, Forres, Moray IV36 2SG.
Although every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information contained online, we cannot accept responsibility for any errors or omissions, and reserve the right to vary, amend, supplement or cancel any of the information or offers featured online at any time.
Subject to the paragraph immediately below, we shall not be liable to you for any loss or damage in circumstances where:
There is no breach of a legal duty owed to you by us or by our employees or agents;
Such loss or damage is not a reasonably foreseeable result of any such breach;
Any increase in loss or damage resulting from breach by you of any term of our contract;
Any loss is in excess of three times the fee payable in respect of your stay.
