Wedding Terms & Conditions
The small print.
Explaining the following in advance helps us to sleep at night we hope it will help you too.
Deposits
To secure your wedding booking a deposit of £200.00 is required plus £50 per room booked. We highly recommend that you take cancellation insurance as in the event of cancellation deposits are not refundable. 1 month prior to the event we require 50% of the anticipated food account to be paid and 1 week prior to the event we require final numbers and full payment. If paying by cheque we will require this 2 weeks in advance. A credit card number must be supplied to guarantee your wine and bar account.
Corkage
As the local garage pointed out to me recently "we don’t allow you to bring your own oil so I understand why you don’t allow guests to bring their own alcohol". He added something about servicing your own car but it is best we leave it here! We have an extensive list of wine and champagne and if you would like a particular special wine, if it has a UK importer we will do our best to source it for you.
VAT
This is a tax imposed by the Chancellor and at the moment stands at a colossal 15.00%; it is included in our prices. We appreciate that this is a substantial amount for the government to take from you but alas we can not avoid it and in line with all business have to collect it as an unpaid tax collector on his behalf.
Payment
We are pleased to accept credit/debit card, BACS, Bankers draft, and cash. Credit cards used for payment will incur a 2.5% service charge. If you wish to pay the balance of your account by cheque, you must advise us of this 10 days before the function.
Cancellation
In the event of cancellation of a confirmed booking we will charge you the initial deposit. Within 3 months you will be liable for 100% of the anticipated food and accommodation costs. We will reimburse you for any accommodation that we can sell.
Insurance
We highly recommend that you take insurance to cover cancellation of your event. It is unwise to go on holiday without insurance, likewise when planning an important event like this. Simple things do go wrong like missing flights, severe weather, or illness so we urge you to please consider insurance.
