New Year Breaks Scotland 2009

LAST FEW ROOMS REMAINING!  Complimentary Bottle of Champagne on arrival. Updated 29th December 2009

Hogmany 2009 / 2010
Hogmanay is that time of year when you reflect on the year gone by, make Resolutions for the new year and then forget about them until next year.

Set on the Outskirts of Forres in the Scottish Highlands, Knockomie is a fine example of an Arts and Crafts House. With outstanding views towards Forres and the Moray Firth and beyond. It is the perfect setting for a Hogmanay House Party. Whether you join with our Party Guests or reserve the hotel exclusively to spend with your friends (If you are first to book!). We would like to offer you a new year Party to remember.

Our Suggested Itinerary to maximise your stay would be as follows:

Arrive at leisure on Wednesday 30th December 2009 (or before) when you will be welcomed into the warm friendly atmosphere that is Knockomie. Afternoon Tea will be available from 4.00pm and will be served in one of the lounges around the fire.

If you have driven to the hotel you may wish to go for a walk to Blairs Loch first or the Gardens at Brodie Castle will be open to let you enjoy the fresh Scottish air.

For those of you who want to relax or curl up with a book there are over 70 Malt Whisky’s in the Malt Library awaiting some company! In the Lounges there are Playing cards, Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Who wants to be a Millionaire (sorry no monetary exchange can be given!) and lots more.

Dinner this evening is at your leisure in the Restaurant where a three course welcoming dinner is served.

After Dinner retreat to one of the lounges where you can enjoy coffee and a Whisky by the fire.

A traditional Scottish Breakfast will be available from 8.00am until 10.00am in the restaurant. The day is yours to explore Moray. You can head for the hills, the Cairngorms are only 40 minutes away and the Banks of the River Spey and Findhorn are almost as welcoming. Walk along the long Pebble Beach at Findhorn. If you are looking for an adventure we have some suggested itineraries which you can more than fill you day for you. Packed Lunches are available on request.

For the less energetic who wish to relax, by prior arrangement we can organise a Massage for you in the comfort of your own room. The hotel will also be running a Car Treasure Hunt which will take you on a tour of the area. This will entail collecting and solving clues from the hotel and its grounds and then within a ten mile radius of the hotel. The person collecting the most correct answers over the Break will win a fantastic prize.

At 7.00pm the festivities begin with Canapés and Champagne served in the Lounges and Malt Whisky Bar. Dinner is served at 8.00pm where our Chef will prepare a menu similar to the one attached.

After Dinner, until Midnight we have a Ceilidh with Traditional Scottish Dancing which is great fun and involves everyone of all ages – No experience required, just enthusiasm!!

At the stroke of twelve our very own Fireworks display will set the heavens alight and say goodbye to 2009 and welcome 2010. After the fireworks return to the warmth of the hotel with a Dram in your hand and let the party continue with the sound of Disco .

On New Years Day Coffee and Croissants will be served for the early risers from 9.00am – 11.00am. From 11.30 am – 1.00pm News Day Brunch is served in the Restaurant. There is a choice of having something light or depending on how hungry you are – The Big Brunch!!

7.30pm – 9.00pm a three course dinner is served in the Restaurant.

On Saturday 2nd January a Full Scottish Breakfast is available from 8.00am – 9.30am after which you may depart at your leisure or, if you wish to take advantage of our preferential rates (the perfect New Year Hangover Tonic) and stay a little longer with us.
